Alfie joined Littleton in October 2023 upon successful completion of his pupillage.

Alfie has a background in international commercial dispute resolution, particularly where there is a Russian element. Current work includes:

  • Acting for a Russian bank in three sets of related LCIA proceedings with a combined sum of over $100m in dispute, arising out of disputed commodities transaction schemes.
  • Acting for a high net-worth individual in relation to an LCIA arbitration.

During pupillage, Alfie assisted with a range of statutory and High Court employment, restrictive covenant, and sports law cases.

He accepts instructions through the full range of Chambers’ practice areas.

Prior to joining chambers, Alfie worked in Shell’s international litigation team where he assisted with large-scale environmental tort litigation, IP litigation, and acted as the designated assistant to the response group established in the wake of the invasion of Ukraine. Alfie previously worked in WilmerHale’s arbitration team, where he assisted on a large Southeast Asian construction arbitration, an arbitrator challenge, and the IP case of Swatch v Samsung. Alfie has also worked as judicial assistant to Lord Justice Popplewell in the Court of Appeal, and research assistant to Dame Elizabeth Gloster.

Alfie holds a DPhil in international arbitration law, with a particular focus on the resolution of Russian and CIS disputes.

Alfie is a member of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen initiative for future leaders in the field of insolvency law and won the Institute’s 2016 Gold Award for publications in the field of international insolvency. Alfie is also a member of the Young Energy Arbitration Club’s steering committee, on which he acts as Secretary. He regularly publishes in leading international journals such as Arbitration International, the Norton Journal of Insolvency Law and Practice, and the ASA Bulletin.

Alfie is research proficient in Russian, and has intermediate reading skills in Mandarin (Simplified) and Japanese.
