Nick Siddall QC and Grahame Anderson victorious in seminal whistleblowing appeal

08.07.22

Littleton’s Nick Siddall QC and Grahame Anderson have secured victory in the Court of Appeal for the Respondent – GIB Limited – in one of the most hotly awaited whistleblowing decisions in recent years.

The appeal – Kong v Gulf International Bank (UK) Limited (Protect Intervening) – was decided by Simler, Underhill and Elizabeth Laing LJJ and will no doubt be reported in short order. It analyses the scope of and proper approach to the so-called “separability principle” in whistleblowing cases and, indeed, more broadly. A fuller analysis will follow shortly.

The Court of Appeal hearing was live streamed on the Court of Appeal’s Court 71 YouTube channel, which can be accessed here.

Nick and Grahame are leading whistleblowing lawyers and frequently appear in high stakes cases for employers and employees. To find out more, please contact the clerking team at Littleton.

Nick and Grahame were instructed by the Jon Goldsworthy and the team at Bird and Bird LLP.
