Littleton Chambers response to Consultation on measures to reform post-termination non-compete clauses in contracts of employment

26.02.21

As you will be aware, the Government is carrying out a consultation on measures to reform post-termination clauses in contracts of employment.

At Littleton Chambers we pride ourselves on the work we do in this area, where we have participated in many leading edge cases over the last 50 years. And we are proud, and grateful, to have worked alongside you on these cases, and to have discussed and debated the issues in this area of the law.

We have submitted a response to the consultation, prepared by a working group of members of Chambers, and we thought you may be interested to see it. You can find our response here.

Our working group was led by Selwyn Bloch KC and comprised Antony Sendall, Lucy Bone, Charlotte Davies, James Bickford Smith and Sophia BerryDavid Reade KC, Gavin Mansfield KC and Adam Solomon KC also reviewed, and agree with, the submission.

We hope that the submission contributes something to the debate on reform in this area. Thank you to all of you who have helped to inform our views. We are sure the debate about reform will continue for some time – so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss the issues raised by the consultation.

Kind regards,

Selwyn Bloch KC and Gavin Mansfield KC
