The High Court has today given judgment in Kearns v Glencore, a claim by a sacked oil trader for share options said to be worth around $8 million, widely reported last month in the national and international press. Kearns’ claim was comprehensively rejected and the trial judge ordered that he should pay Glencore’s costs of around £400,000 on an indemnity basis. Glencore was represented by Howard Kennedy Fsi and Jonathan Cohen.
