Jonathan Cohen QC and Ashley Cukier have appeared this week in the Court of Appeal for Simon de Pury, the famous art auctioneer, in an appeal against the award of $10 million commission to him for the sale of Gauguin’s Nafea faa ipoipo to the Emir of Qatar. The case was a rare example of a successful oral contract case and was reported throughout the international press.
Judgment is awaited.
