Littleton’s co-Head of Chambers, John Bowers QC, and the
Head of the Sports Law Group, John Mehrzad, advised on the policy recently
announced by the Shadow Minister of Sport, Clive Efford MP, which has been
reported as “the
biggest legislative shake-up in the governance of English and Welsh football
clubs since the advent of the game“. Under the proposals, football
fans would have seats on every club’s board and the right to buy the club’s
shares when its ownership changes.
