Damian Brown QC and
Ed Kemp will be speaking in Dubai on
‘The Rules of the Game’. The talk will be played in two halves.
In the first half, the speakers will kick off by looking at the extent to which the DIFC courts can re-write the contract using the principles of interpretation and implication of terms.
In the second half, they will look at the rules of statutory interpretation and the extent to which the meaning of DIFC laws can be successfully challenged. Has there been a judicial backlash against the importation of English legal concepts into DIFC law?
