John Mehrzad to chair British Equestrian Federation Independent Review

An Independent Review into the British Equestrian Federation (the “BEF”) has been launched. It will be chaired by John Mehrzad, the Head of the Sports Law Group at Littleton and no.1 ranked junior barrister in sports law according to the leading legal directory, Legal 500. 

The BEF Review will investigate allegations of elitism, self-interest, bullying and corruption; the leadership of the BEF; and may then make recommendations in its report as applicable.

Previously, John was a panel member on the Cycling Independent Review (the “CIR”) into the culture and climate of the World Class Programme in British Cycling. The CIR report set out recommendations as to governance, staff and athlete welfare, practice and procedures and conditional funding, which have been accepted in full by British Cycling and UK Sport.
